Newly Revised M-274 Form I-9 Manual
USCIS has published the newly revised M-274 Handbook for Employers. The M-274 handbook was revised due to the recent update of the Form I-9. According to an Immigration Compliance webinar hosted by Montserrat Miller with the law firm, Arnold, Goldman and Gregory, employers can expect more immigration compliance changes under the new presidency. Some possible changes mentioned include:
- An increase in State E-Verify laws
- An increase in frequency and type of ICE audits
Due to these possible compliance changes, it is recommended that employers perform internal audits of their Forms I-9 and E-Verify records at least monthly.
