HR Tech 2025: First Advantage Recap

The First Advantage team is back from an incredible week at the HR Technology Conference in Las Vegas! This year, over 10,000 attendees were able to immerse themselves into highly engaging content featured through Think Tanks, HR Tech Talks, Case Studies, Core Sessions, and more. We were fortunate to be one of 400+ exhibitors conversing with attendees throughout the week, including many of our customers and partners.

Our team prioritized showcasing the importance of First Advantage’s digital identity solutions during our experiential booth and core session, “Modern Hiring Risks and Resilience: Navigating Deepfakes, Disinformation, and Data Integrity to Build a Confident Hiring Process.”

Booth Experience and Engagement

Booth 2527 was busy all week as our team discussed hot topics around the hiring process, background screening, digital identity, AI, and more. Jennifer Snyder, CS, had great interactions and shared that, “It was good to interact with our existing customers to understand what they’re achieving with First Advantage today, and make them aware of alternate solutions.”

While the discussions were critical to our team’s HR Tech success, we had a lot of fun in the booth hosting many rounds of trivia. We drew consistent attention to our booth for each round, and the questions sparked detailed conversations once the games were over. Attendees were put to the test on First Advantage history, current data that supports our business, including our 96% customer retention rate1, and standout data points from the 2025 Global Trends Report.

Hot Topics and Key Conversations

So what is top of mind for HR professionals, specifically within background screening? These are the hot topics we heard all week that led to informative conversations:

  • Digital Identity: A recurring theme, especially around early-stage identity screening and global workflows.
  • AI in HR: Interest in how AI can help detect fraud and enhance current processes, balanced with concerns about implementation.
  • Fraud Prevention: Many attendees expressed concern about false applicants and deepfakes, showing a growing appetite for proactive identity verification.

Takeaways from Our Team

Our conversations in the booth led to many takeaways from our team, including this insight from Melissa Taddei: “There is a lot of apprehension surrounding fraud in the HR space, many concerns about false applicants, identifying those applicants, and weeding them out as early as possible, even up to and leading to the interview process. Leaders and even day-today folks in our space want to learn more about the use of AI but are also concerned about how AI will fit into and build upon current processes and requirements.”

Along with Melissa, many others shared their takeaways from the conference – take a look at the video below!
